Who Wrote The Bhagavad Gita?

Who Wrote The Gita? Where was the Gita originally spoken?

The Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna, said:

I instructed this imperishable science of yoga to the sun-god, Vivasvan, and Vivasvan instructed it to Manu, the father of mankind, and Manu in turn instructed it to Iksvaku.

  1. In other words the Lord Krishna himself is the creator of the Gita.
  2. Lord Krishna originally spoke the Bhagavad-Gita.
  3. The content of the Gita is the conversation between Krishna and Arjuna taking place on the battlefield before the start of the Kurukshetra war.

More About Vivasvan

Vivasvan (Vaivasvata) is the father of one of the 14 Manus, the Sraddhadeva Manu or Vaivasvata Manu, who is considered the progenitor of the current Manvantara, which is the 7th of the 14 that make up the current Kalpa, each Kalpa making up a day of Brahma.
